Weeping May Stay for the Night

23 July 2026
Weeping May Stay for the Night
📖 Today's Scripture
"Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning."
— Psalm 30:5

This verse doesn't pretend the night doesn't happen. It doesn't rush you past your grief or tell you to skip straight to praise. It simply says: weeping may stay for the night.

There's permission in that phrase. You're allowed to weep. You're allowed to feel the full weight of whatever you're walking through right now. God isn't asking you to fake joy you don't feel.

But notice the second half of the verse. The night doesn't get the final word — morning does. Rejoicing comes. Not "might come," not "comes for some people." Comes.

If you're in a night season right now, this isn't a promise that it will be short. Some nights feel long. But it is a promise that it isn't permanent. Morning has never once failed to arrive, not for you and not for anyone before you.

Let yourself weep tonight if you need to. Just don't forget that morning is already on its way.

🙏 Prayer
Lord, I don't always know when the morning will come, but I trust that it will. Meet me in this night season with Your presence, and remind me that this pain is not the end of my story. Amen.
