About Obaapa Christy
Obaapa Christy is a famous Ghanaian gospel singer, praise and worship leader, and songwriter. Born Christiana Adwoa Twene on December 7 in New Suame, Kumasi, she is widely celebrated for her powerful vocals, deep voice, and numerous hit tracks.
Early Life and Music Beginnings
- Born to Mr. Akwesi Twene and Mary Amoah Twene as the second born of nine siblings.
- Began singing at a very young age, performing with the Kumasi-based group "The Hallelujah Voices."
- Discovered by veteran gospel musician Osuani Afrifa, who helped launch her professional music journey.
- Released her debut hit album, Me Te Ase, in 2002.
